This morning, Senator Casey had the opportunity to talk with Secretary of Education John King on the importance of community engagement in the implementation of the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). ESSA is the newly passed update of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the law that helps fund our nation’s public schools. Senator Casey also had the opportunity to talk about supporting excellent teachers and providing opportunities for high quality professional development.
