Company Has Been Considering Elizabethtown as Site for Online-Sales Fulfillment Center / Casey Wrote Letter of Support for the Site in October

Washington, DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) praised the announcement that, following his efforts, Nordstrom will bring a local and online-sales fulfillment center in Lancaster County. Casey wrote a letter to Blake Nordstrom, Chief Executive Officer of Nordstrom, promoting the region’s workforce as an ideal location for this center this past October.  The company had been considering the move that will bring approximately 370 jobs to Elizabethtown.

“Lancaster County is an ideal location for this new center and I’m pleased that Nordstrom has decided to choose Elizabethtown,” Senator Casey said. “The region’s workforce has proven over and over again to be efficient and highly skilled. Moving this online-sales fulfillment center to Elizabethtown will be a major economic boost.”

The full text of Casey’s letter is below:

Dear Mr. Nordstrom,

I write to you today to reiterate my support for the construction of a Nordstrom’s online-sales fulfillment center at Consewago Industrial Park in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

Opening a Nordstrom’s facility would provide a strong economic boost to the region and create jobs for Pennsylvanians.  It is my understanding that this project has the potential to create approximately 700 jobs.  I welcome the investment in Lancaster County and know that you will be impressed by the quality of the region’s workforce.

I stand ready to assist Nordstrom’s in developing an online-sales fulfillment center in Pennsylvania. Thank you for your continued effort to bring jobs to Pennsylvania.

Sincerely,

Robert P. Casey, Jr.

United States Senator
