PITTSTON, PA— U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director Thomas Williams today announced a $48,000 Community Facilities grant for the Pittston Area Memorial Library Association. The grant money will be used to expand the selection of non-fiction, state and county books, as well as large print books and books on CD, public access computers and new bookcases. In addition, the library anticipates adding or updating carpeting and furniture.
“This grant will help the Pittston Area Memorial Library continue to provide the community with diverse resources for education and recreation,” said Senator Casey. “The library is an asset to Pittston and I am pleased that the USDA shares my commitment to ensuring Pennsylvania’s communities are able to provide modern facilities and resources to their residents.”
