WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey announced today that $99,000 in federal funding will be awarded to Main Street Gettysburg, Inc., a local non-profit organization, for job creation and business growth.

“I am pleased that the Borough of Gettysburg will be able to generate new business opportunities as a result of this grant,” said Senator Casey. “By saving hundreds of jobs, this funding will allow Gettysburg businesses to better serve residents and visitors to one of our nation’s most treasured historical sites, while at the same time giving more Gettysburg families a measure of economic stability and peace of mind.”

The grant is provided through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program, which aims to assist communities by funding the growth and creation of rural businesses.   The funding will be used to establish a revolving loan fund to stimulate start up businesses and expand small businesses in Gettysburg Borough.  Funding from the project will save 310 jobs.
