WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that the U.S. Department of Labor has awarded the Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Corporation (CPWDC) a $3,045,533 grant to provide job training and placement assistance to workers in Central Pennsylvania.
“This is great news for workers in Central Pennsylvania in search of new skills to compete for the kind of high quality, high-tech jobs available in today’s global economy,” said Senator Casey.
CPWDC will use the grant to provide workers in Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties with training, education and job placement assistance. CPWDC aims to provide education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to equip Pennsylvania workers with the skills they need to succeed in new and emerging occupations in high-growth industries like advanced manufacturing, health care and natural gas.
