Senator Will Attend President’s State of the Union with PA Mom of Two Medicaid Recipients / Casey to Continue Call on Administration to Make PA Children, Families A Key Priority, Save Vital Protections Like Medicaid
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that Anna Corbin of Hanover, PA, a mother of two Medicaid recipients, will be his guest to the President’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday, January 30. This announcement comes as the Administration and Republicans in Congress remain fixated on slashing vital programs and services for working families. Republicans passed massive tax cuts for the super-rich and big corporations, while at the same time proposing $1.5 trillion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid in their FY18 budget.
“I’m pleased that Anna will be returning to Washington to join me for the President’s State of the Union Address,” said Senator Casey. “She has been a powerful voice in the fight to protect Medicaid for children and families across this country. It is children like Jackson and Henry and families like the Corbins that Washington Republicans should remember as they work to undermine vital protections for families.”
Anna’s children, Jackson and Henry, were both diagnosed with Noonan Syndrome in 2008. Anna’s family utilizes the Medicaid program for their complex medical needs. She will join Senator Casey in calling on the Administration and congressional Republicans to protect vital services like the Medicaid program, which help families when they need it most.
