Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) is announcing the inclusion of $21 million for the Letterkenny Army Depot in the Senate Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill. Letterkenny Army Depot is the premier Department of Defense Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for the maintenance and repair of air defense, tactical missile and power generation equipment, Patriot guided missile systems, and Route Clearance Vehicles. The funding would be used for construction of a new fire station on the base, as the current location is antiquated and incapable of supporting the depot’s mission.
”The Letterkenny Army Depot develops and maintains equipment and services critical to our national security, but right now, the men and women based at Letterkenny are being put at risk,” said Senator Casey. “This funding would allow the Depot to build a fire station on base with the technologies and resources needed to serve the base and keep the hardworking servicemembers and civilians at Letterkenny safe. I will continue to work to pass this spending bill to bring resources to Letterkenny.”
