WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded $120,050 to Susquehanna Fire & Rescue Co. No. 4 in Columbia for recruitment.
“Pennsylvania’s firefighters play a crucial role in keeping our communities safe,” said Senator Casey. “This money will help Susquehanna Fire & Rescue Co. No. 4 recruit additional firefighters to better serve their community and ensure its safety.”
Federal funds are awarded through the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant program which aims to provide funding to fire departments to help them increase the number of trained firefighters in their communities.
