WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bob Casey announced today that $180,290 in federal funding has been awarded to the Titusville Police Department by the Department of Justice (DOJ).  This grant, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will allow Titusville to hire staff, purchase equipment and increase criminal investigations.

“I am pleased that this funding has been granted to Titusville as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” Senator Casey said.  “This grant allows Titusville to enhance its existing police force and hire additional staff from the local community.”

Federal funding is made available by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act as part of the DOJ’s Assistance to Rural Law Enforce to Combat Crime and Drugs Program. This program is designed to address rural policing needs that may not be met by local area budgets. Titusville will use its grant to purchase three patrol cars, hire a records manager and increase crime statistical analysis and investigative policing.
