WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bob Casey announced today that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has awarded $18,638 in federal funding for Warren Police Department in Warren, Pennsylvania. This funding, part of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG), will be used to buy a new police cruiser for the department.
“I am pleased that this funding will go to the Warren Police Department,” Senator Casey said. “Additional police cars bolster the first line of defense against crime and make Pennsylvanians safer and more secure in their homes.”
Federal funding is made available by the Department of Justice as part of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG). It is awarded to state or local initiatives that will improve or enhance law enforcement programs related to criminal justice.
