WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding the Port Authority of Allegheny County a $3.07 million grant through their Clean Fuels Program to go toward a compressed natural gas fueling station.
“This grant will create jobs and help make our transit systems cleaner,” said Senator Casey. “Natural gas has the potential to fuel economic development across the state, and I’m pleased that this grant will boost this development and ensure a future of clean transportation.”
The Department of Transportation’s Clean Fuels Program helps communities control ozone and carbon monoxide pollution while supporting emerging clean fuel and advanced propulsion technologies for transit buses.
