WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today released the following statement on funding for the Flight 93 National Memorial being included in the President’s Fiscal Year 2012 budget proposal.

“I am pleased President Obama has included funding for the Flight 93 National Memorial in his 2012 budget recommendation.  This funding will provide critical help for construction of infrastructure for the memorial and take a step closer to the goal of completing the Flight 93 National Memorial.  This memorial will serve to help us remember the sacrifice of those we lost, honor their valor and commemorate their lives.  While this is only the first step in the congressional budget process, I will continue to fight to maintain federal funding for completing this memorial to pay tribute to the bravery shown by the passengers of Flight 93.  I applaud the dedication of the Families of Flight 93 on their tireless efforts in this endeavor.”

Since taking office, Senator Casey has helped secure over $15 million for the Flight 93 National Memorial.
