Funding is a result of the American Rescue Plan, which Democrats passed into law last year to help families recover from pandemic, economic crisis
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) is applauding the new plan from Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to spend the $1.7 billion from the American Rescue Plan helping Pennsylvania families as they continue to recover from our Nation’s public health and economic crisis.
“I applaud Governor Wolf and his Administration for this plan to invest $1.7 billion in services that will benefit Pennsylvanian families and workers. When Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan last year, this is exactly what we had in mind—investing in child care and health care, supporting seniors and people with disabilities and lifting up essential frontline workers,” said Senator Casey. “This plan prioritizes vulnerable communities and Pennsylvanians struggling to get back on their feet. It will be essential to Pennsylvania’s recovery and I urge the Commonwealth to put it into action as soon as possible.”
The Governor’s plan includes funding for recruitment for the home and community-based services and behavioral health workforces, the PA Opportunity Program, the COVID Relief Statewide Small Business Assistance Program, the Property Tax Rent Rebate program, the Growing Greener conservation and recreation program and other agriculture conservation programs.
