WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement:
"The failure of Congress to reach an agreement that would end the partial FAA shutdown is inexcusable. Jobs, Pennsylvania construction projects and the operations of the FAA are at risk.
"Construction jobs are halted at various airports—leaving hundreds out of work. Over 1200 aviation professionals have been furloughed, in addition to 4,000 FAA employees.
"The FAA shutdown must be resolved. We need to build on the bipartisan compromise which was reached with great difficulty during our last debate, and move forward to protect and create jobs for the good of the country."
