Senator to visit Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Israel, and Qatar To Meet with Key Officials / Casey Has Sponsored Legislation to Constrain ISIS Criminal Smuggling

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), a member of the National Security Working Group and former Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs, will travel to the Middle East over the United States Senate’s Presidents Day recess next week to explore, research, and investigate the issue of terrorism financing. He will meet with officials in Saudi Arabia and Qatar to press for greater action against terrorist financiers and facilitators. In Turkey, he will assess efforts to curtail ISIS’s illicit smuggling networks and other financial support.  Casey will meet with senior officials in each of the countries as well as visit deployed United States servicemembers at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
