WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement after the U.S. House voted 262-169 to shut down the National Drug Intelligence Center based in Johnstown:

“The intelligence that NDIC provides to local law enforcement agencies has played a crucial role in fighting drug trafficking and gang violence.  NDIC plays a unique and vital role in the fight against drugs.  Eliminating NDIC will set back that fight as reports of drug crime and drug trafficking fill the papers around Pennsylvania.  I will continue to fight efforts to shut down NDIC when the bill comes to the Senate.”
