Senator Casey Encouraged Committee to Provide Adequate Funds

Additional Investment Will Help Job Creating Project Move Forward

Washington DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that the U.S. Senate’s Committee on Appropriations has allocated $20 million in funds for the Delaware Deepening project in its fiscal year 2014 Appropriations bill. Senator Casey urged the Committee to provide adequate funding for the project. Securing this investment in the Committee’s Energy & Water Appropriations bill is a significant step that will help the project maintain these funds as the budget process moves forward.

“I urged the Committee to include adequate funding for the Delaware Deepening project because it will create jobs and have a substantial impact on Southeastern Pennsylvania’s economy,” Senator Casey said. “The Committee’s decision in an important step in the process and I’ll fight to maintain these funds as the budget process moves forward.”
