WASHINGTON, DC- U.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and Arlen Specter (R-PA) and Congressmen John Murtha (D-PA) and Bill Shuster (R-PA) today met with Fayette County officials, including Commissioners Joseph Hardy and Vincent Vicites, to discuss the County's ongoing efforts to improve the Connellsville Airport.
"I look forward to working with the members of the Fayette County Commission and my colleagues in Congress on the Connellsville airport," said Casey.
In today's meeting the group discussed the centerpiece of the initiative which is a plan to extend the runway to at least 4,500 feet from its current length of approximately 3,400 feet. The group also addressed options for maximizing the federal investment in this important project and agreed to work closely with local officials to reach this goal.
