Washington, DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that he has been named to key subcommittees as part of the Senate Committee on Finance. Casey will serve as the lead Democrat of the Subcommittee on Taxation and IRS Oversight and will also be a member of the Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure.

“I’m pleased to serve on these important subcommittees to continue to fight for Pennsylvania priorities,” Senator Casey said. “It’s critical that Congress invest in our nation’s infrastructure so we can upgrade our ailing bridges and roads. In addition, this Congress has a unique opportunity to reform our tax code so it works better for businesses and middle class families. I look forward to working to move forward tax reform in a bipartisan way.”

Pennsylvania is a leader in energy production including natural gas, nuclear, coal and renewables.  The Commonwealth also has the unfortunate distinction of being one of the leaders in structurally deficient bridges.
