Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) is releasing a statement on the purchase of Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia:
“Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children have served the most vulnerable in Philadelphia’s community for generations. As these two institutions are auctioned, I expect anyone looking to purchase them to commit to three things. First, they must continue to provide care in the community, especially for those who received services at Hahnemann. Second, they must work to keep graduate medical education slots in Pennsylvania. And finally, they must provide jobs for workers who have been impacted by these events. The people of Philadelphia must have access to care and it is imperative that patients be prioritized over profits.”
