Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement on the recent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Mississippi:
“Yesterday’s raids were another example of the Administration’s penchant for cruelty towards children and vulnerable families. While ICE has conducted enforcement actions under all Administrations, the Trump Administration routinely chooses to take steps that inflict maximum trauma on children. Ripping law-abiding parents away from their children is wrong and doing so in the cruelest manner possible only adds to the emotional and psychological challenges these children will face.”
