American Rescue Plan provided $1,400 stimulus checks and monthly Child Tax Credit payments to Pennsylvania families
In two years since passage, PA has received at least $38 billion in investments from Rescue Plan
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) is releasing the following statement ahead of the two-year anniversary of the American Rescue Plan Act being signed into law by President Biden:
“Two years ago, Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan to provide American families with a lifeline during the worst public health and economic crises our nation has seen in a century. It met the moment of uncertainty Pennsylvania was facing,” Senator Casey said. “This law continues to deliver billions of dollars to our Commonwealth and has brought Pennsylvania back stronger than it was before the pandemic. Thanks to President Biden’s agenda, our economy is thriving, unemployment is down, and families have peace of mind knowing that Pennsylvania is a place of opportunity to raise a family.”
To date, Pennsylvania has received at least $38 billion from the American Rescue Plan, including $1,400 stimulus checks and monthly Child Tax Credit payments for Pennsylvania parents. Funding from the Rescue Plan helped get the vast majority of Americans vaccinated from COVID-19 and reopened schools across the Commonwealth. . Additionally, the law vastly expanded subsidies for health insurance purchased through Pennie, the health insurance marketplace, eliminating premiums for some Pennsylvanians and significantly lowering health care costs for many more. The law also provided investments for health centers, mental health, home and community-based services, housing, child care, small businesses, public transportation, and more. Pennsylvania also received investments from economic development initiatives created by the Rescue Plan, including the over $62 million for the Southwestern Pennsylvania New Economy Collaborative to grow robotics and artificial intelligence sector in Southwestern PA, and over $22 million for Philaworks, Philadelphia’s workforce development board to create a regional workforce training program.
