Casey is One of Only Four Senators to Receive the Top Prize, and the Only Senator to Also be Recognized for Social Media Engagement
Washington, DC- Today, the office of U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) received the Congressional Gold Mouse, an annual award presented by the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) to recognize the best in online communications within Congress. Along with the Gold Mouse, Senator Casey was also recognized for social media engagement thanks to his utilization of FourSquare, a location-based social media app. While a few other offices received these awards individually, Casey was the only Senator to receive both distinctions.
“I’m thrilled to receive this award from the CMF,” Senator Casey said. “It is of utmost importance that we stay connected to constituents, and social media offers us a whole new set of tools to do this in meaningful ways. My office will continue to creatively pursue avenues of online engagement to better serve the people of Pennsylvania.”
