WASHINGTON, DC- With the expected final passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement:
“This compromise bill will directly benefit millions of Pennsylvanians. It will help President Obama get our economy out of a ditch, help to shore up state and local budgets and provide a needed boost to our economy. It will create or save tens of thousands of jobs in Pennsylvania. It will cut taxes for more than 95% of working families. And it includes needed infrastructure investments, aid to states, education funding and additional unemployment insurance as well as other improvements like increased funding for law enforcement.
“The bill also contains strong transparency and accountability provisions to ensure that the implementation and effectiveness of the bill will be monitored.”
