“Today, I had the opportunity to virtually meet with Dr. Vivek Murthy, President-elect Biden’s nominee to be our Nation’s next Surgeon General. During President Obama’s Administration, Dr. Murthy was a Surgeon General who worked to protect and improve the health and well-being of all Americans. As our Nation faces its most dire health crisis in more than 100 years, I am grateful to Dr. Murthy for his willingness to serve in this role once again and lend his considerable skills and experience to the incoming Biden Administration. If confirmed, I am confident that he will play a critical role in helping to lead our Nation through the COVID-19 pandemic and emerge stronger.”
