Washington DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement on day four of the ongoing government shutdown:
“It is time to end this reckless Tea Party shutdown. Speaker Boehner should allow a vote on the 16 page Senate-passed bill he already has to reopen the government. I was encouraged that a number of Pennsylvania representatives have made clear that they are willing to vote for a clean funding bill. As news outlets have reported, Republicans already scored a big victory when Democrats compromised by agreeing to $70 billion in cuts. They should take that compromise and reopen the government now.”
