Washington, DC - On the heels of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ statement that the White House would support a $45 billion investment in the opioid fight, Senator Casey released the following statement:

“I am pleased that the White House has come out in favor of a $45 billion investment in the opioid crisis. If the White House is serious about confronting the opioid crisis then I would urge President Trump to endorse my legislation, S. 2004, the Combating the Opioid Epidemic Act. This legislation would invest the $45 billion in the opioid fight that the White House says it wants without eliminating coverage for substance use disorder as the Administration’s health care scheme did by decimating Medicaid.”
