WASHINGTON, DCU.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today called for an end to the obstruction in the Senate that is holding up consideration of bipartisan legislation to support autism research.  A Senate procedure known as a “hold” has been utilized to prevent passage of the Combating Autism Reauthorization Act that unanimously passed out of committee earlier this month.

“Washington gridlock apparently has no boundaries,” said Senator Casey. “We are unfortunately used to obstruction in the Senate, but now a few senators are putting themselves ahead of the thousands of Pennsylvania families impacted by autism.  The Senate should pass this bipartisan legislation.”
