WASHINGTON, DC-U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today spoke at the National Convention for Veterans sponsored by the Circle of Friends for American Veterans. The event focused on the challenges faced by veterans today, especially homelessness.
“I wish to thank the veterans and their family members for their sacrifice and service to our country,” Senator Casey said. “My father once said: ‘When we send our troops into harm’s way, we pray not only for their safety, but that we may be worthy of their valor.’”
After speaking, Senator Casey took questions from the group about funding for services to veterans, service-disabled veteran owned businesses and legislation introduced in the House of Representatives to establish a special review board for servicemembers with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Traumatic Brain Injury.
