Washington DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement after he spoke with GE Transportation’s President and CEO, Lorenzo Simonelli and the President of UE 506, Scott Duke.

“I spoke to Lorenzo Simonelli of GE and Scott Duke of UE 506 today to receive an update on their negotiations. During my conversations I stressed the need for GE to engage in genuine negotiations with workers in Erie and make every effort possible to preserve the maximum number of jobs. Losing 1,000 jobs in Erie would be a damaging blow to Erie’s economy, and I’m urging all involved to work together on a path forward that preserves jobs.”
