Loan and grant going to West Branch Sewer Authority
WASHINGTON, DC-U.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and Arlen Specter (D-PA) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded a $3,913,000 loan and $3,545,500 grant to the West Branch Sewer Authority to protect public health and the environment by making wastewater system improvements. The loan and grant are available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
“By investing in water and wastewater projects we can ensure that Pennsylvania families have access to safe drinking water and the environment is protected in communities across the Commonwealth,” said Senator Casey. “It is good to see Recovery Act funds positively impacting Cambria County.”
“I am pleased to see stimulus funds being used for water system improvements in Pennsylvania,” said Senator Specter. “This money will help protect the environment and ensure Pennsylvanians’ access to safe, clean drinking water.”
The loan and grant for the West Branch Sewer Authority are part of $445.3 million in ARRA funds announced today by USDA for 89 water and wastewater infrastructure projects in communities across the country.
