Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released a statement following the procedural vote on S. 1140, the Federal Water Quality Protection Act.

“The legislation offered today would substantially weaken our nation’s ability to protect our water. This is the water in which our children drink and bathe. Clean water provides critical habitat for fish and wildlife which supports Pennsylvania’s hunting and fishing heritage. Instead of gutting basic clean water protections, Congress should work in a bipartisan manner to strengthen our nation’s efforts to protect water from pollutants.”
