Scranton, PA. – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement in support of the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh:
“I stand with the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh in their years-long efforts to secure a fair contract for Post-Gazette staff. I urge the paper’s management to revoke working conditions unilaterally imposed by the company and return to the negotiating table in good faith. All workers have the fundamental right to stand up for a safe and professional work environment, and to bargain for fair wages and benefits. I encourage management to work with the Newspaper Guild to reach an equitable contract for all Post-Gazette employees.”
