Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released a statement on the 20th anniversary of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin’s death.

“Today we pause to honor the life and work of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated on this day 20 years ago. Prime Minister Rabin sought peace in all facets of his life; whether as a soldier, general and as an elected leader. His heroic pursuit of peace was recognized when he received a Nobel Peace Prize. He also left an enduring legacy as Israel’s first native-born Prime Minister.  His unwavering commitment towards achieving peace between the Israelis and Palestinians showed that he was a true statesmen, consistently pursing reconciliation over conflict. As we remember Prime Minister Rabin’s life today, let us continue to stand with Israel in an effort to encourage stability and peace throughout all of the Middle East.”
