Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), member of the National Security Working Group and former Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs, released a statement following the attack on a police training academy in Quetta, Pakistan.

"This week I and our nation stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan following a horrific terrorist attack on a police training academy outside Quetta. Those at the training academy were there to serve the people of Pakistan by promoting safety and security. This cowardly attack demonstrates the risks that all Pakistani people face every single day, particularly those who commit themselves to a life of public service in a police academy or the military. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and those whose lives were lost or changed forever by an injury. Our nation must continue to work with the Pakistani government to defeat the terrorists who perpetrated this attack and ensure that the people of Pakistan can have basic security."
