Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey is issuing the following statement regarding the release of Caitlan Coleman and her family:
“Today, our Commonwealth and our country gives thanks that Caitlan Coleman, Josh Boyle and their children have been released from captivity. This day is also special for Jim and Lyn Coleman who have spent the last five years devoted to the mission of bringing their loved ones home. They have been living any parent's nightmare, and today they can begin to heal and recover.
For five years, I have prayed and worked for the release of Caitlan, Josh and their children. In Washington, I met with representatives of various foreign governments in order to urge them to do all they can to secure the family's safe recovery.
A substantial amount of work has occurred over two administrations to secure the release of Caitlan, Josh, and their children. Both the Obama and Trump Administrations should be commended for their unwavering dedication to this mission. Our Nation owes an immeasurable debt of gratitude to the law enforcement officers, security professionals, military personnel and diplomats who made their safe recovery possible.”
