Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released a statement following the Department of Education anti-union labor agreement:

"In an Administration that has made a habit of breaking promises and attacking working families, the Department of Education recently reached another new low.  Three months ago, the Department of Education unilaterally threw out an active contract with its employees and replaced it with anti-labor and anti-worker provisions not agreed to by the workers. The Department of Education is joining the rest of the Administration in its hostility to another of our essential traditions: the rule of law.  This is another overreach in a string of attempts to bust unions and take away the rights and benefits of workers.

The Department of Education should back away from their unilateral actions, respect the rule of law and the right to bargain collectively and return to the bargaining table."
