Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released a statement following a proposed Title IX rule from Education Secretary DeVos:
“This proposed rule from Secretary DeVos is another example of how this Administration is determined to undermine protections for victims of sexual harassment and assault and stop holding institutions accountable for protecting their students. We should be looking at ways to strengthen the supports and protections for victims and prevent sexual harassment and assault, instead of making it easier for schools to avoid their responsibilities and for perpetrators to go unpunished. These proposed regulations are moving us in the wrong direction, and should be rewritten immediately.”
