WASHINGTON, DC- Following his meeting today with Harley-Davidson CEO Keith Wandell and his meeting yesterday with representatives for the workers,  U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement:

“Over the last two days, I met with the Harley-Davidson CEO Keith Wandell and with representatives for the workers at the York plant.  In both meetings I made clear my commitment to the York plant and to its workers as Harley evaluates its operations there.

“Harley’s roots in the area run deep.  For over thirty years, York, Pennsylvania has helped to build Harley-Davidson – not only the motorcycles, but the company itself.

“I made clear to Mr. Wandell and to the workers that I will do everything in my power to help the York plant and the workers.  I reiterated my offer to work together and explore every possible option of federal assistance that will help the York plant.

“The process is ongoing and there is no news to report at this time.  Going forward I will continue to stay in touch and assist the workers and the company in any way that I can.”
