Washington DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), Chair of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety,  released the following statement after a hearing on nominations to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB):

“The NLRB and the National Labor Relations Act played a key role in making the United States the prosperous nation we are today. I believe that a properly functioning Labor Board is key to creating and maintaining a thriving business environment for both workers and business owners, which will bring a more prosperous tomorrow. The Senate must remember that the livelihoods of real workers with real families to take care of and real bills to pay will be the victims of Senate inaction.   I urge the Senate to quickly confirm a full slate of nominees without unnecessary roadblocks.”

Senator Casey also delivered a floor speech discussing why the National Labor Relations Board is important to our economy, our workers and our businesses as well as the importance of confirming a package of five nominees to the NLRB. A video of the speech can be found here.
