WASHINGTON, DC – On the anniversary of President Obama’s first 100 days in office, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement:
“In light of economic and foreign policy challenges, President Obama's administration is off to a great start.
“He signed into law an economic recovery package that is already sending money to states to create jobs and get our economy back on track.
“In Pennsylvania, we are already seeing positive effects of the recovery bill- from road projects to law enforcement, from clean water to tax cuts and Pell Grants.
“After two attempts failed because of Bush vetoes, President Obama signed into law legislation to provide health insurance coverage to four million additional children. He has also made clear his commitment to improving early childhood education. I look forward to working with him.
“The President is not just changing policies; he is changing the tone and how Washington works.
“President Obama knows that the hard work has just begun. I look forward to continuing to work with him on health care reform, job creation and our foreign policy challenges.”
