Washington, DC- Today U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement on the Senate Republican budget proposal:
“It’s troubling that Senate Republicans have released a budget equally as extreme as the one released by the House, and which doubles down on policies that will undercut the middle class and impede growth. The Senate GOP’s budget would make draconian cuts to programs for vulnerable children and seniors while increasing the cost of college for working families. Rather than investing in things that will fuel economic growth like early learning, medical research, and infrastructure, their budget undermines our ability to challenge our global competitors like China. We should start making smart fiscal decisions that will drive consumer spending and help Americans get back on their feet so that they can help drive the economy.”
