Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released a statement following the Supreme Court deadlock in United States v. Texas:
"The President’s Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and enhanced Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) would have helped millions of law abiding families remain together and fully contribute to our nation. I’m saddened that today’s indecision by the Supreme Court means that these families will remain in limbo. Fortunately, the DACA policy from 2012, which has helped thousands of DREAMers, remains fully in effect.
"Today’s indecision is also a reminder that the President’s policies are no substitute for inaction by Congress. In 2013, I joined with 67 of my colleagues in passing a Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill that would have reduced our deficit by $800 billion, create new jobs, and double the agents protecting our border. Unfortunately the House of Representatives chose not to act on this legislation."
