Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement on the passing of former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Sandra Day O’Connor:
“Today, our Nation lost a monumental figure in Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. As the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court, Justice O’Connor inspired millions of women and blazed a trail followed by some of our Nation’s finest legal minds. She was independent and demonstrated a commitment to moderation and civil discourse without compromising her values. Terese and I send our condolences to her family.”
