Washington, D.C – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement on the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol unanimous vote to subpoena former President Donald Trump.
“For over a year, the January 6 Committee has conducted a thorough investigation into the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Through public hearings, it has presented a compelling argument against the former President and his substantial role in the insurrection. To ensure it never happens again, the former president must answer directly to Congress, as well as the American people, about his role in attempting to throw out millions of Americans’ votes and overthrow a democratically elected government to stay in power. Our democracy is only as strong as those who are willing to uphold it.”
