WASHINGTON, DC- U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), a member of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee, released the following statement on the nomination of Tom Vilsack to be the Secretary of Agriculture:
“Governor Vilsack has devoted his career to public service and his heart to making American agriculture successful. I think he is an excellent choice and will be an asset to President-elect Obama. I look forward to discussing Pennsylvania’s agriculture priorities with Governor Vilsack during the confirmation process in the Agriculture Committee. He is a Pittsburgh native and I know he'll understand the challenges faced by farm families in Pennsylvania.”
