WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs, released the following statement:
"We have seen an unfortunate increase in terrorism in southern Israel beginning with an unprovoked terror attack on a civilian Israeli bus on Thursday. Terrorism in any form is unacceptable and I fully support Israel’s right to defend itself from such attacks. I was encouraged to hear that Israeli forces repelled some of the rocket fire from Gaza through the use of Iron Dome, an anti-rocket battery supported by U.S. security assistance. My prayers are with those in the region and I hope that the violence will immediately cease."
