Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released a statement following White House action on steel dumping:
"I appreciate the Administration heeding my call for more aggressive enforcement of U.S. trade laws to curb practices that harm US industries. As I wrote to USTR Froman and Commerce Secretary Pritzker, on steel dumping in 2016, “Countries that don’t make things don’t last for very long. To that end, preservation of our manufacturing base is not just an economic imperative; it is vital to our national security.”
"As Ranking Member of the Finance Subcommittee on International Trade, Customs, and Global Competitiveness, I will continue my work to advance Buy America and ensure that a whole of government approach is taken to combat activities causing direct harm to American jobs, the economy, national security and competitiveness. Workers in Pennsylvania and across America can out-compete any worker in the world if the playing field is level. That can only occur when cheaters are held to account."
