YARDLEY, PA – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) toured flood damage in Yardley today, pledging to continue to make sure every possible source of assistance is explored to help Pennsylvanians recover from the disaster.
“The devastation I have witnessed in Yardley and across the central and eastern portions of the state has been horrific,” said Senator Casey. “Despite the destruction, Pennsylvanians are determined to recover and rebuild. I will not lose focus on ensuring federal assistance is available to help our communities recover.”
Senator Casey has spoken to federal officials, including the White House, to make the urgent case for federal assistance to help families, business owners and farmers who have been hit hard by the floods. He has also coordinated with local and state officials on the phone and on the ground in Northeastern, Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania over the past several days.
In Yardley, Senator Casey was joined by Bucks County Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia, State Representative Steve Santarsiero and Yardley Borough Council President Joe Hunter to tour River Mawr and other areas affected by flooding.
