WASHINGTON, DC— In an effort to expedite a resolution to the pay disparity at Tobyhanna Army Depot, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today sent another letter to Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director John Berry requesting prompt answers to questions raised in previous conversations and correspondence.
“As I have conveyed in past correspondence, the ongoing disparity impacts the workforce with affected employees left to feel that they are being treated unequally without justification,” said Senator Casey. “Tobyhanna employees deserve answers to the questions I have set forth.”
The full text of the letter is below.
Dear Director Berry:
I wanted to follow up on our March 29, 2011 conversation regarding the wage disparity issue at Tobyhanna Army Depot. During our call, you indicated that a representative from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) would contact a member of my staff to discuss the status of the decision. Unfortunately this contact has not happened despite efforts made by my staff to follow up. As a result, the matter remains unresolved.
This issue is important to thousands of Pennsylvanians. As I have conveyed in past correspondence, the ongoing disparity impacts the workforce with affected employees left to feel that they are being treated unequally without justification.
Tobyhanna employees deserve answers to the questions I have set forth. I ask for your immediate attention to ensure proper follow up on the part of OPM.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Robert P. Casey, Jr.
United States Senator
